Although I have been a member of Twitter since 2009, it is only in the last few months that I started using it. What a life safer it has been for me!
A few months ago, many changes were taking place around me and I was clearly stressed about what would be left after the storm had passed. So I decided to spend three hours on a Saturday back then learning about strategies to manage stress. We did breathing, laughing and meditating. But when it came to committing to a particular strategy at the end of the session, I chose to make time to regularly meet with people with whom I feel comfortable and can share ideas. I could feel that was missing in my life.

One thing led to another and a few things happened that led me to remember @rolfek telling me so many times Twitter is the best thing in the world! (or something like that…). He was the first person I followed, of course.
I remember sending him a direct message about feeling totally overwhelmed as I was following just 5 of you! How funny!
And then I started to discover some of the amazing people out there sharing so many ideas, and, surely enough, I started following them too! Along the way some other people have decided I am worth connecting with and each one of them (of you?) has make me feel relevant again.
Now I am at a stage where I have started conversing with a few and well, this has simply rekindled my passion not only for teaching but also for life. I don’t really feel isolated or awkward anymore, mainly because I know people that share this passion DO exist, I can hear them, and we can occasionally exchange ideas!
In his book ‘Brainstorm, The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain’ Daniel J. Siegel writes: “Relationships in which you feel felt by another person -- when you sense that your internal world, your mind, is taken in by another and respected -- are the building blocks of health.
I am thus feeling so healthy now!
